Alas, I have met thee, fabled YLOD.

Nov '07, it's a fat 60GB.

YLOD is the PS3 equivalent of the 360 RROD, and indicates an unrecoverable hardware failure.

Damn. Not cool.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

actually biting the bullet and sending it in for repair. i don't have a heatgun nor the time to tear it down to reflow the board and hope that bad solder is actually the problem, but if i get a new one i give up the ps2 compatibility that i regularly use.

plus, repair is MUCH cheaper than a new or refurb.

5 years isn't bad, but all of my other consoles are still alive and kicking (except the original PS1 that one of my college dorm-mates cooked alive by running it on a carpet for 6 hours).

RROD? You mean the Crimson Pacman?

DirectInput represents all bits, not just powers of 2 in an axis.
