Now you start the game alone instead of with the other 3 companions...

They prolly made a real scenario this time around.

If the quality is like the Seiken Densetsu -> Sword of Mana remake, it's gonna be worth it. That was one of FF3's issues (but who cares about scenarios when you've got a job system hahahaha).

Wild Arms 1 Style who is still a lot better than NES graphics.
Ehh? If you're implying the carts couldn't have held all the prerendered backgrounds, look at RE2. And that had the FMV included. Regardless, FF7 really isn't very big. There is a whole copy of the entire game on each of the three disks, minus the FMV.

Six new videos

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/13/a-ple ... ii-videos/

Seems that you select which monsters you want to attack just by touching them with the stylus. The wrold map looks like a polygonal (sp?) version of 16 bit Final Fantasy World maps. There was three seconds of loading time between the town and the world map which is a little worrying.

I like the "selecting which monsters to attack by tapping on them" idea. That actually makes me want to play it. Load times on a DS...that's not very common.

Didn't pretty much every snes RPG have about the same amount of delay when changing maps?

.....surely you should know better than that.

Still, 3 seconds is not much at all, I wonder what anybody would be worrying about. Now if that was the loading time for battles that would be another story...

It still would be faster than the PSX load times for FF5 FF6 and CT though. I WANT THIS GAEM NOW!

JAPANESE ROM RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is one of the few 1gigabit games for the NDS.

I'm gonna play it once I get home. It seems that there is some oddness with saving on flashcards, but there is a way around it. KIERAN IS ESTATIC

I played some of it. The graphics are beautiful and the animation is very smooth. Very similar to FFIX, just with 3D backgrounds. I controlled the game with the stylus, which was very intutive, and I was used to this style from playing Animal Crossing: Wild World. Those who haven't used the stylus like this before may feel awkward at first, but it is really handy in menus and battles.

I went as far as the first town. I made my way through the first cave because there was very little dialogue. I decided that I wouldn't try to go any farther due to the language barrier. There were LOTS of random battles in the cave. More so than any Final Fantasy I have played. Maybe it is just me. I should note that the graphics inside a town are mouth watering. Everything is in warm tones and is nice and detailed. I loved it. There is also a button which allows you to zoom in while in the field (caves, towns, world map). It does not work in battles. There is also a temporary save option that will be familar to those of us who have played the conversions of the early FF games to the PSONE.

There is a long movie before the title screen which is very impressive and is crystal clear, no artifacts or anything. Certain parts of it use both screens which looked great to me.

I cannot wait for the US version.

Snezziboy is in its infancy. AFAIK, the current version has no sound support and it has speed issues.
