N64 emulator for Ogre Battle 64

Post by darkbenny »

What do you guys suggest? I currently use the latest public release of project 64 but it seems pretty buggy.

Project64 and Glide64 + wrapper combo for the graphics plugin. Or wait for the Project64 version to come out since as far as Jabo is to be believed, the problems will be fixed.

Is there noticeable slowdown with the glide wrapper?

And is this plugin good for day to day gaming as well?

Glide64 is probably the best (graphics emulation-wise) N64 graphics plugin you'll ever find. That is complemented hactarux's glide wrapper.

Sure, you need a fairly powerful system and a good video card to support all the bells and whistles the plugin and the wrapper has to offer. If you have the power, the whole thing works like a charm. There are some odd probelms here and there in some games, but I haven't seen anything that would totally destroy a game.

I keep getting error messages when attempting to use the Glide plugin.

Am I supposed to put the Glide Wrapper dll in the same directory as my other plugins?

The Glide wrapper goes in the emulator folder or in Windows/System32. The Glide64 plugin goes in the Plugins folder, naturally.

Ok, with your suggestions I am now able to boot roms and configure the graphics plugin.

However, upon a few seconds after loading I get an error message:

Error: uCode crc not found in INI, using currently selected uCode 1a1e18a0

I am running the latest PJ64 with any updates available from the homepage.

It seems Nemu 64 and 1964 inis are included with the Glide64 package, but I don't know what to do with them.

Most games should run well with the defaults found in Glide64.ini. As for the error message, I can't say much about that. Does it stop the game from working properly?

It's odd actually,

after the error message I can resume the emulator except the screen will remain black although accurate sound will continue to pump through. I'll play with the video settings and come back to you.

Glide64.ini goes in the same place as the plug-in.
