Running in linux (monitor gets out of frequency)

Kubuntu:

sudo sh ./autogen
sudo make
sudo install

It looks like it compiled ok but how the heck do i run the program?

I go to usr/local/bin and run zsnes but i get an out of frequency message in my monitor and have to restart the Xserver...how do i configure the emu? Thanks
