Any sort of addition to the Red Blaze saga would be great, not necesarily a demon's crest sequel (which would not make much sense story wise)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of Super Metroid. The GBA Metroids weren't bad either.
I agree profusely. The classic 2D Metroids were GODS as far as gameplay and puzzles. Not that I'm saying the 3D Metroids were bad, they were awesome AND beautiful, but I loved Fusion and Zero with a passion.

NINTENDO, IF YOU'RE WATCHING THIS THREAD, PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER 2D METROID GAME!!!

I enjoyed Zero Mission even more than Super Metroid. Both Zero Mission and Fusion was absolutely beautiful though, the 2D graphics were simply superb. It showed off some of the best 2D on the GBA.

Zero Mission is by far my favorite 2D Metroid game I played. Everything about it was pure awesome. I should really go find a copy of the game.

And I have to admit (I thought) one of the coolest moments in ANY Metroid game was the Samus Fusion vs. Samus Power Suit battle at the end of Fusion.
