Input unresponsive with wireless keyboard *ZSNES 1.51*

Post by jsnake »

This has been bugging me since I upgraded to ZSNES 1.51. I did not have this problem with ZSNES 1.50 and earlier. Basically, I am using a wireless keyboard and the input is amazingly unresponsive. It takes a full two seconds for games to respond to my key input. Yes, I did delete the cfg files. No dice.

This happens with all games, and it does not happen with any ZSNES before 1.51.

Try replacing your batteries in your keyboard? I mean I am not trying to be insulting but actually try it... It happens to me.

Yes, I tried that. I'm not an idiot. Also, this only happens in windowed mode. Fullscreen works fine..

Do you have vsync enabled? Maybe some weird interaction between windowed mode, vsync, and your keyboard input. Also, maybe try with a wired keyboard and see if it changes. And try a gamepad if you have one.

Nevermind. Acting up on fullscreen as well. Just not as often. VSync is off. I do not have a wired keyboard or a gamepad.

In my experience, if either Vsync or Tripple buffering is enabled, my controls are also delayed like that. As a result I have to live with screeen tearing. Oh well.

edit: Although, I am on a wired keyboard.

I have experienced these problems, as well, on Linux, playing Yoshi's Island. I could try to recreate the conditions, if anyone wants; I just want to confirm that control delays do happen, and they happen to me. :)

Your key input is delayed by 3 frames when you use triple buffering, vsync should have no effect on it.
