Hey guys

Post by Magus` »

What's new with everyone? I haven't been on the board much lately. Kind of curious to see how the regulars are doing and such.

I'll probably be on more now that I have absolutely nothing to do outside of school and the ocassional work, so, whoo I guess.

Well, I've been busy with school. I recently broke up with my GF of 3.5 years and it's been something of a hard thing for me to deal with. It's also something I've basically verbally vomitted on anyone who would care to listen, so I'm gonna save it this time around.

Personally I've gotten kind of annoyed with the current (technical) state of the forums with it's 5 billion different mini-forums, so that kind of kept me away. Personally I don't think we need all these forums, but it's not really my choice.

Outside school, not a lot is new with me. I'm poor so all my money goes towards school and thus I don't have any new fun gadgets. Well, I did get a Wii, but it's collecting dust as there is nothing new out for it (I'm not a Sonic fan).

I have mostly just been lurking without posting here recently...due to there not really being much activity around this here ranch

Hey Magus'! Good to see you alive and kickin'. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend. Three and a half years, that's quite an investment to loose. Well... they come and they go... but the only change that changes is your perspective. Now, next time, you'll be a little older and a little wiser.

Good luck to you with your endeavours...*tips hat*

What's up Jesse. Haven't seen you on MSN for a long time, I was wondering what was up.

Obviously nothing that exciting has happened on the board, other than the release of Zsnes 1.50 and 1.51.
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

Hey, what's up Magus. Yeah, sorry about your girlfriend thing. Gets me thinking about having serious relationships.

Me? Well, I'm still in high school, trying to get through the 11th grade. I'm still wondering what to do after high school. Maybe I'll make some use out of my semi-okay computer knowledge.

For your lack of Wii games, how about Wario Ware: Smooth Moves? I bought it recently and it's quite entertaining to play.

I rented it. I'm glad I did as I beat the main game in like 2 hours, if even that.

I know there is more to do, but it didn't seem worth 50 dollars.

but yeah, welcome back, not much to see here.

Long time no see. There has been some emulator development going for both ZSNES and bsnes, but aside from that nothing major has happened. And about the girlfriend thing, no worries, you're still young. Plenty of time to find a new one.

School's school, and it ends where it ends. Most people find a job and suddenly gears stop rolling for some time.

At least that's how things work for me.

I have no real physical problems to speak of. I have been considered to have Asperger's syndrome, which is a form of 'high functioning autism' as well as signs of depression. I'm working to manage both with varied results. Sadly, someone with Aspergers has.. issues getting along with most people, and adding on this depression shit I have, life is somewhat difficult. I have hopes that it'll pass, however, given enough time.

I am currently going to school for a degree in Criminal Justice (my school is one of the top in the US for this field) and my minor is Philosophy. I really like my minor, though I will use it more of a suppliment to my major as opposed to taking some career in it. I actually work for the philosophy department. It doesn't pay much (nothing in this town does) but it's tax-free and the work is both easy and usually interesting.

I plan to eventually go to Law School. I'm not sure if I will right out of college or if I'll try my hand in law enforcement first. I do know I like both fields, but I don't feel the pay to risk ration in police work is enough to make it a career.

All in all I have about 2 years or so left before I will graduate (I have 59 of ~125 credits with another 12 coming this semester). Sadly, being a student in this town I cannot afford my own place or a car and I'm hoping to somehow find something cheap by the time I graduate.

And I'd post more on both this and your forum, but I spend most of my 'forum time' over at Penny Arcade.

I rememeber hearing someone say that you can tell an internet nerd by his self-diagnosis of Asperger's.

I got dumped last year after 3 years - it was to the point where it was move in and plan on getting married, or jump ship, and she jumped ship. There is life after a breakup though - one that involves a hotter, cooler girlfriend. One word for you - match.com. Do yourself a favor and sign up - it'll at least lift your spirits when you find that there are a thousand hot, single women in your area that share the same interests as you.

9 out of 7 people who claim to have aspergers on the internet are lying because they think it is cool to have some random disability

If I was going to pretend to have a disease it wouldn't be one that contained the word "ass" in it.
