I'm having trouble with Z-battle I forwarded my ports just like in that guide, I also turned off my firewalls but when I try connecting to my friend it just says connecting to server and it stays like that.

Your problem is on the ZSNES side of connectivity. All I can say is check the Zbattle forums because some routers are an awful lot harder to configure than others.
