Controller config Problem please assist quickly.

I've took a quick peek through the forum and haven't found my problem, so here goes!

My two friends and I all want to play. Until the third friend came, we were fine using a logitek dual shock controller. Then when attempting to connect a madcatz controller, it would only read the R and L buttons, and esc was impossible to use.

It seems that every time we try to configure the third controller there ends up being a problem.
