Place to talk about all that new hardware and decaying software you have.

Video Capturing

Post by ReRuss »

My friend is wanting to use windows movie maker because the size is small and it looks decent , however after a minute the screen looks laggy

MPC looks great on capturing so I like usin that

However , I cant get MPC to capture in any DivX format , or compressed at all , and Dony Vegas just dont recognize the capture device (USB)

Basicly I wanna know which software and codec combo I can use (prefer it works with MPC) , and what settings would make it small , yet look good

What sort of capture device are you using? I know its USB, but what brand at least? Second, its better to capture, then to compress unless you are severely limited for space. Lately, I have been using VirtualDub to do my capture work. (That is for the devices I have that support it. I have a couple USB devices from ADS tech, the pretty much only work with their proprietary software.)

What he said. VirtualDub does it for me as well.
