maybe how all the menus are setup? :?
Yeah, the menus are more or less the same as Earthbound, and some enemies in battle will do quirky actions that have no effect whatsoever.

The style of music actually has similar elements, too.

Made by the same team?

Why not link to the 2.0 version, while you're at it... 3.3 is so old, it doesn't even come with schnapps.

Looks fun. I'll give it a spin.

Quick question before I do though. Anybody know if the PS2 game "Metal Saga" is a remake/sequel of this one? They seem pretty damn similar what with the bounties, tank pimping-out, and non-linearity.

Yes it is.

Just some extra bits on it.
"Reception:
Although the game's sense of humor and solid hours of gameplay won it some positive marks, the overall impression of the title was decidedly mediocre. Reviewers scoffed at the dated graphics, lack of plot, and missing feeling of progression. As a result, a considerable amount of time was often spent by reviewers and gamers alike simply wandering around, trying to figure out what to do next."

Sounds just like it's prequel, hehe.
After a few hours of play on MMR, I have to say that it's nonlinearity is not a positive point. There isn't even a story, just wander around and collect bounty after bounty. The game play is fun, and acquiring new vehicles and mods are exciting, but the the lack of a story seems to be laziness on the developers part. The battle system could be better, it isn't very exciting considering the fact that you're driving around on badass tanks.

Well, if it is indeed related too Metal Saga I'll probably play it. I'm enjoying Saga and will probably like this one too. Not too mention that SNES 2D graphics make me love it more.

Also, thanks for the response.

Both games -have- a story, it's just not told in the traditional way. The world is the story - it's been ruined, and you can't tell me that you don't have any interest in finding out how? Everything provides clues as to how the world was destroyed and what it was like before armageddon - there are legends passed down through the townspeople, cryptic messages flashing on computer screens, and gigantic hulking ruins to explore. Come on man, use your noodle :p

yeah, someone who understands indirect storytelling! the same is true in a slightly different way in early final fantasy games, although that's a pretty poor comparison, but people think if something isn't put in their lap that it isn't there.

Yeah, I did notice those things, but I did not pay any attention to them, because frankly, it's not exciting.
Maybe if it was like "zomg!!11 you found some sort of secret tech! Where is it from?!?!!11".

I also found it stupid how people talk about the teleportor machine and say how absurd or incredible it is and nobody knows how to use it, yet you can just walk in and fire it up. If they had infact made it unusable, that would add more to the story. The things are useless anyway because there's the dog system.

It's still pretty fun however and I will continue to play.
I'm totally diggin' the Gigabull engine that came with the ambulance. :D
