Game Hacking Question

Post by Svinto »

I've always liked the hacking tools embedded in most emulators (ZSnes included) that lets you search for values in the game memory and alter them. They're easy to use and works very well.
My question is: Does anyone know of any software that lets you hack computer-based games this way?

There exists lots of trainers for games that lets you cheat by altering game memory data (giving you unlimited lives, unlocks secrets etc).
I find it strange if it didn't exists an all-purpose trainer that let you search through the game memory while the game is running and alter the values of memory adresses just like the cheat tools in many emulators.

I hope I made myself understood.

Thx in advance.

Never heard of them before, but artmoney seems to be what I've been looking for.

Thanks Rashidi.

IDA-pro?
Sorry but IDA Pro is a perfect tool. Any debugger is good, as it allows you to search for code caves if you want to inject code.

ArtMoney is outdated, I useMHS instead when I write my trainers. It has many nice features, including a built in disassembler and support for scripting.

Cheat-O-Matic v0.99 works great but has not been updated in ages and only works on winME, 98, 95. (not 100% sure about 95...) and won't work on WinNT based Family Operating Systems.

It works in Virutal PC running A Win9x OS too.

Cheat Engine? Bleh!

OllyDbg w/ Phantom (a cloaking plugin for Armadillo/Themida/SecuROM protections) and some cheating plugins is more than you need. Plus, you get to see the code that influences the values. Perfect for hacks like unlimited whatever/low grav.

As I said if you wanna cheat SWF files (especially embeded flash games on a web page) use cheat engine (cause' Dragon Fable is a FLASH MADE web browser game)... or download or buy Adobe Flash Products to edit it yourself (if you know how to use em')

OR a SWF decompiler.

And Cheat Engine seriously sux ass. Use MHS OR a real debugger.
