GoodSNES and NSRT both suck. Alternative?

Post by ParanoidAndroid »

This is what I try to achieve:
1. unzip a rom file.
2. Change the extracted smc file so the md5sum changes.
3. zip the changed smc into a zip with the orginal name.

Now, obiously the smc checksum and the zip checksum has changed, but not the zip/smc fileNAME. GoodSNES doesn't detect this change. NSRT seems dead (no site, IP address not responding).

Is there a good alternative? Thanks for your input!

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I'm not understanding your problem.
Please describe what you think should be happening.

(also here's the best place to get NSRT at the moment: http://snesemu.black-ship.net/index.php?page=tools hopefully in the near future I'll have a new site up.)
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Sorry for the awkard description but I'm looking for a way to check the smc file I have against an "official" SNES rom database.
For example, check if a rom is really the official version (like matching md5sum/sha1sum).

Thanks for the link to nsrt (trying it out right now!)

See NSRT's sort option.

PS: "smc" is an extension of a copier. "sfc" would be more correct.

I don't see sorting as being in his specs.

He just wants a normal scan.
