Video game Den update

Post by lkermel »

Hi,

I have published a new update for Video Game Den and added a bunch of new Super Famicom reviews:

Akumajo Dracula XX
Holy Striker
Kirby Bowl
Shonen Ashibe
Super Dogfight F14
Super HQ
Super Mario Kart
Wolfenstein 3D
Zelda No Densetsu

I can't believe I have reached 500 reviews on the site, among which 155 are SFC reviews!. Please let me know if you see errors or mistakes, or if you'd like to contribute and send me your own POV about a game.

Thanks :)

I've just spent almost two hours reading through reviews, and
happened to stumble upon a couple of very interesting games that
I didn't know about. Bookmark'd for future check-ups.

Well done! =)

Great ! I'm glad you like the site! thanks for your feedback. There are so many unknown gems out there and the Super Famicom library is amazing for that. When I think I've seen all the games available for the system, there's always one that pops out from nowhere :)

I love your site, I wish I could get around to making more reviews for my own site, but there is just so much other stuff I am more interested in (cart scans, pcb scans, etc).
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

Dude, change http:/// to http://
I don't like wasting 3 seconds of my time manually fixing it each time I click the link to the site.

PS: Good stuff, btw.

you could always bookmark it, instead of relying on a message board thread

All the links have http:// :?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

It was only the first link, and I was the one who fixed it after the complaint.

lkermel, some places you need to fact check or avoid incorrectly stating things by using a big word that does not mean what you think it means.

For example:
Star Fox wrote:The Super FX2 chip was supposed to be even faster and consisted of two Super FX chips working in parallel, but was not released as far as I know.
http://www.snescentral.com/pcbboards.ph ... 1CB0N7S-01
Additionally, no, only one core, bigger package (more pins).

F-Zero wrote:It looks a bit aged compared to today’s racers (especially the bad anti-aliasing going on in the distance) but the game has kept its incredible feeling of speed and offers an amazing gameplay. A great title.

Moiré interference pattern.

Super Mario Kart wrote:The game features a cast of eight characters borrowed from the Mario universe - Mario himself, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Browser, Koopa Troopa, Toad and Donkey Kong Jr (the only non-Mario character).

ARRRGH

Other things like:

The game had an especially designed cabinet.

So all in all Super Dogfight F14 is a correct and responsive air combat shooter that smells good the old days of the 16bit era but that may not impress the new comers used to more immersive 3D graphics.

Thanks whicker, I really appreciate your feedback. English is not my native tongue and I do make mistakes. Thanks for taking the time to let me know your thoughts. I'll make sure to revisit the issues you mentioned and correct them. Don't hesitate to let me know if you find more of them :)

Wait... a decently courteous reply to criticism? On the ZSNES boards?!?! Where's the outrage, the intellectually superior attitude and cutting remarks?

I posted here to receive feedback about my site - positive or not - and criticism is the best kind in my book. So sorry, no flaming guns from me ;)

I'm about to add game manual scans to my site (as I have thousands of them, literally). I've tested the idea with Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire (see the omake section at the bottom of the game) and more will follow soon. Please let me know if there is any game in particular you'd like to see the manual for in the Super Famicom section...
