I click the link to download the game (not the patch, the game) and I get this crazy japanese page with various links. Which link do I click on? Looks aweseome, BTW. And I didn't know you were the one who did that translation of Live a Live. Now that was a good game. And what is "we'll try to kill with a forklift" from? It sounds vaguely familiar.

Uh, I can't get past the screen where it says "push button1" Am I just stupid, or what? I push the "1" key. I push space bar. I push every button on the keyboard. Only one that does anything is "escape" and it exits it. Probably I'm just stupid....

It was the sound played when you entered the (only?) cheat code in Escape Velocity. EV was a bitchin' awesome Mac game that was somewhere between Tyrian and Final Fantasy.MorteTheSkull wrote:And what is "we'll try to kill with a forklift" from? It sounds vaguely familiar.

That's entirely dependent on the game. Some PC games are much easier to hack. Then of course some SNES games are easier. Depends on the game. You also need a slightly different skillsets. Knowing how to dissassemble and reverse engineer API calls on a PC game is different than dissassembling and reverse engineering SNES code.grinvader wrote:Question to Gideon: which are easier to hack, PC games or SNES games ?

Yeah, SNES is generally easier for me for that very same reason. However, when you get a PC game with seperate files for the script and it's completely uncompressed and has a nice storage system that's easy to work with.. Even the most basic of hackers could handle it.
The same can be said in reverse for simple SNES games.
