Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I don't have a PSN ID because that would require me to run the latest firmware so that I may access the PSN.
Well, technically, no, I could just register on the Internets, but then I wouldn't be able to use the account on the system.
I'm kind of waiting on PSN compatible jailbreaks again. Supposedly, Portal 2 is pushing hackers to work quick on cracking 3.60, since Portal 2 requires that version.
Note that I have not run any jailbreak hacks on my system yet, I'm still on the fence. Considering sticking it to Sony for selling us a $500 system that decided to die after only 3.5 years.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
replaced the dead 360 with a shiny slim 250 GB + kinect bundle. it's nice.
so, DA:O is back on the plate. once this fantasy rpg is over, i'll be able to better concentrate on the witcher. looks like i'll only be booting the second one up on launch day to make sure it runs smoothly.
HL2:Ep2 needs finishing. it's sad, i'm at the last rush in the climax, and my aim sucks.
also kinect adventures and dance central, casually.
queued are bioshock, dead space, lego batman, and fallout 3. not in that order.
debating whether i should start l.a. noire right when it comes out, or wait until psn is back up, and possibly wait to beat one of the other sandbox games i have first.

Those scenes were pretty funny, actually. I got to say though, I was surprised when I found out who the Origami Killer was.snkcube wrote:JA-SON! JA-SON!Agozer wrote:Heavy Rain

same here, great twist.
looking forward to attempting the platinum on that. not looking forward to kamikaze, though.

Played Borderlands to death, pretty much. Discovered that Lilith/Siren is the best for doing Crawmerax runs.

Kamikaze was fairly easy on Hard. At least for me it was.sweener2001 wrote:same here, great twist.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
so is it just driving flawlessly through, or is it a certain route?
i was under the impression that there was a specific route that you had to take, which makes it tougher for me. i hate rote memorization sequences.
in any case, l.a. noire and the witcher will be my primaries for a bit.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Maybe I just got lucky. From what I've read, there really is a specific route you have to take. Well, there aren't that many choices between going left or going right, and most of these are near the beginning of the sequence.sweener2001 wrote:so is it just driving flawlessly through, or is it a certain route?
IIRC, in the beginning the sequence is Left, Right, Tilt Left, Right... When you get to the toll booth, I've always taken the right path. I don't think you can miss any prompt (especially the "Tilt Right/left quickly" part after the toll booth) if you're trying to get the Kamikaze Trophy.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
ff4 psp, just got the Falcon. while i don't agree with every one of the graphical changes / flourishes, it's a fantastic way to play the game.
all of the individual sprites are more detailed, although the monsters aren't all scaled the same way (Black Lizards et al are now the same size as Goblins). spell animations have been redone from scratch instead of just prettied up, unlike the DS version. i like some of the new animations, while for others i wish there was just a prettier version of the original. multitarget spells now animate sequentially (a la FF6) instead of simultaneously, although the -ga spells just show a single centered animation over the target group. bloodfeast is as annoying as ever.
there is an auto mode that has all characters repeat the last non-defend command entered, and doubles battle speed. good for grinding.
you can choose between the original SNES music or the DS arrangement - both are solid in terms of sound quality.
there are occasional video clips interspersed... so far, i've seen two - the opening and later resealing of the Agart crater.
the extra stuff from FF4A is apparently included, as well.
haven't touched interlude or the after years, yet - but i'm happy with my purchase just for FF4 alone. i got the downloadable version; there are no noticeable load times except for a brief delay while accessing the bestiary. there's an install option on the disc version (my niece has that), presumably load times will be minimal/unnoticeable in that case, too.
speaking of the bestiary, it covers all of your saves - which is good, because it would be otherwise impossible to have a completed list (you can either get Doctor or Barnabas-Z. but not both, since only defeated monsters are added).
oh, and i killed Dr. Lugae (second battle) before he even transformed. yang did 9999 with focus (thanks to a thunderclaw).

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Holy shit, 9999?!
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
mmhmm. yang is quite the beast with a decent level and power bracelets - he had a 9x attack multiplier. 2300+ base, and 4x damage due to focus + weakness exploitation... didn't take much luck to get OVER 9000!!!! in one hit.I.S.T. wrote:Holy shit, 9999?!

I love the load screen tips.
"Take less damage to prevent death" and "If you get stuck, don't forget you can cheat by looking at FAQs online" are my favorites, though "if you died from falling off a high ledge, it's probably your own fault" got a good laugh too.

Waiting for Dynasty Warriors 7 to arrive in the mail. In the mean time, Sengoku Basara 3 and Dead Nation.
