I'd like to configure ZSNES to play sound good and have it in sync (go figure )
I'm not sure how to accomplish this. I've spent about an hour browsing forums and the solution for everyone (zsnes -ad sdl) is not working favourably for me.
I'm running ZSNES 1.51 on an Asus Eee PC 1015pn
Here's the configs I've tried and the results:
Auto: Sounds great, but 1 second out of sync
zsnes -ad alsa (default?): Sounds great, but 1 second out of sync
zsnes -ad sdl: Audio is in sync, but the quality is pretty bad. There's cracking and popping sounds.
zsnes -ad oss: "sound driver does not exist"
zsnes -ad pulse: "sound driver does not exist"
I have "libsdl-1.2debian-pulseaudio" installed.
I am a Ubuntu NOOB and have spent countless hours configuring my system so that the HDMI audio will work properly. I'm afraid to alter my sound drivers to resolve this issue unless I know for sure that everything else will still work.
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Ubuntu 11.04: Sound issue
nvm~ I took a suggestion from another forum and tried Snes9x, which turns out to play everything perfectly

Re: Ubuntu 11.04: Sound issue
Might be due to the fact that Snes9x 1.52 and on uses Blaarg's accurate S-SMP/SPC700 (sound processor) core. Well, that's the main reason I use it over Zsnes.
