Finally got around to buying 3D Dot Game Heroes

Post by franpa »

Finally got around to buying 3D Dot Game Heroes, it cost an arm and a leg to buy though (considering its age). It ended up being $67 AUD for a supposedly brand new copy. I would buy it on the PS3 store except oh wait, it's not available on the Australian PS3 store (and I can't be assed setting up an American account with fake details).

I've always been curious about this Zelda clone ever since I first saw advertising for it, but by the time I got a PS3 the game couldn't be found anywhere locally.

I've had it for quite some time, but never managed to finish it. It's rather charming in a Zelda-esque way.

Yeah I was recently reminded of the game when the Beard Bros. on Youtube started playing it (poorly).

I can't play it because I own two broken PS3s.

I just wasn't too keen on auction websites back then. My parents had an Ebay account, I just didn't care much, I'd rather deal with proper retailers. Seeing as there really wasn't any way to get the game except from such websites, I relented and finally made an EBay account.

Oh, no wonder I've never heard of it, it's a console only game.

Hmmm, have you ever heard of this series called Zelda? It's console-only, so maybe you haven't. ;) There's some pretty good stuff on these "console" things. Then again I'm just a peasant.

The latest Zelda game I've played is Twilight Princess, and I ended up playing over half of the game in Dolphin.

Zelda: Skyward Sword is a pretty good game for a single playthrough if you can comprehend how to handle the controls (Game re-calibrates the Wiimote+ sensor at the most inopportune times, so you basically should re-calibrate it yourself whenever changing items [Press Down on DPad I think]).
