That said, it looks like the higher-quality 256 GB SD cards are around 200.
I briefly looked up SD2SNES and saw like a $190 pricetag when I made that post so yeah I mean the high-quality SD cards. I have never used one and don't really know anything about them, so there's a good chance I'm gonna use the wrong terminology quite often when talking about such things. If I ever decide to buy one though I might as well get one of the best available instead of some cheap piece of crap.
Yeah, the SD2SNES is not an SD card. SD cards are postage-stamp-sized and don't fit a Super Nintendo.

And then there are MicroSD cards, that are reaching into the same exact capacities as full sized SD cards, and are the size of your index fingernail.

I got one with my new Android tablet, 64GB, class 10, and it cost $20. It was sold under the PNY brand, but identifies as a Lexar card.

I'd say that "high quality" or "high capacity" SD cards are really only expensive if you push for extreme capacity. That is, whatever isn't being mass produced cheaply yet. 64GB seems to be the sweet spot for really cheap, while 128GB is only slightly more if you still go with PNY or similar brands, while the well known Sandisk sells their 128GB microSD card for $42 on Amazon.

One may find it more affordable or at least smarter to buy the micro cards if one owns devices that utilize the format, then buy an adapter or two for the device(s) that require mini or full size SD cards. No point buying a mixture of card sizes, unless you only have one size worth of devices, or only plan to keep using the same card in a given device until it rots.

Largest SD cards are 512 GB, largest MicroSD cards are 200.
MicroSD capacity is always behind SD.

Also, for smaller capacities, I've seen many cases where the microSD card is CHEAPER than the full-size variant.

But as we've established, Yuber said "SD card" when he meant "flash cartridge"

So until I secure another job I will be doing this bribing ZSNES to the current standards and acceptance level the community desires. I am not asking for money as I stated before but donations at this point would be appreciated (so I guess I am asking for money?) I have had a tough time dealing with social media so take this as a give if you want to or don't but I am working now full time on ZSNES when previously I could not due to restrictions in previous agreements. All I can promise is great progress coming forward with the focus on this project.

Been awhile since I've been back here, but sorry to hear that you lost your job. It makes the fact that you're working on ZSNES full time bittersweet, but I hope you guys (assuming you're not working alone, I hope not) can get this project done. I know it's going to be great when that day arrives maybe even better than the best SNES EMU out now. I still exclusively use ZSNES when I feel the urge to waste time playing retro SNES games and still battle with mencoder when trying to get long record sessions in without screw-ups.

Unfortunately, I barely have enough cash for myself these days. Times are tough for a lot of people, but if I ever win the lotto, I'll shoot a nice little nest egg your way. Good luck with finding a new source of income, donations and of course the project. Take care PF and hang in there.

As tempting as that is, well, heh. I mean, Snes9x 1.54.1 now has fully functional MSU-1 support (well, a special MSU-1 build of it made by Qwertymodo). Zsnes' state is an enigma.

And thus, shitpost. Bump an old thread. File a bug report on Mario RPG. Post in "Reply to This Thread". Have fun, go nuts. And remember, I deny ever saying this.

Lol I remember those Mario RPG bug reports, the weird flickering screens and slowdowns, random lockups and horrible screeching sound effects  And of course, I remember nothing you suggest that I do.

I kind of wonder if this post still holds true. Is ZSNES still in development? Because I'm really looking forward for a new version, something that can compete with the current emulators which I respect yet dont have the same feel as ZSNES.

Yeah, I mean unless the main coder shows up with an announcement to the contrary, the emulator is, well, in a coma.

The best SNES emu available that I've used would have to be the April 17th(this year) test build release of 9x. That emu is quick enough to run on fairly weak PCs and gives the user a gazillion different audio & visual config options. To top it all off, it has perfect sound and shader support. Even if a new ZSNES is released in the future, the newest version of 9x will be insanely hard to top.

ZSNES is awfully nostalgic to use and to the devs' credit, was the best SNES emu for quite a long time and is still ideal for people with very old PCs. While 9x has more options, ZSNES' GUI, while incredibly outdated, is simple and intuitive. Also, who doesn't love the snow?

Any news would be welcome but I also understand that you all are busy dealing with your actual lives so I'm more or less giving up on any chance of ZSNES ever being updated. Anything can happen though.
