bahumut lagoon

Post by thesammah »

I patched bahumut lagoon and it freezes right after the first battle when you are prompted to save.

tried different roms and emulators can't get it to go past it.

Make sure the rom you have has a good checksum. There are bad dumps of Bahamut Lagoon which cause many freezing problems.

There should be a GUI (NSRT3GUI.EXE) in NSRT version 3.2.

This is a known emulator bug. At least it doesn't happen on the real console. If you use save states you can prevent this from ocurring as it seems timing-dependant (and zsnes' timing isn't perfect).

uhm about that

Post by Jue Eddervant »

i have actually found that it is not exactly timed

it was happening every time one of my characters moved

I think it was scenerio 13 whatever the scenerio with the "secret weapon" with persona as the boss

i found that going to the party screen on a character when the screen messed up fixed it............. until I went to move someone else.

I got past that level and it hasn't done it since

however i would still like to fix it in case it begins to do it again

sorry for the complete annoying idiocy of me

thank you for responding any way

Patch corrupts the rom

Post by No fear boy »

 I downloaded 3 bahamut lagoon roms from different sites - the checksum is ok when I load them, but as soon as I patch them with the ips patch the checksum fails  - what can I do to fix that?

Applying a rom will result as a checksum fail... As long as it was Ok before the patch, you got nothing to worry about. I guess.

The checksum fails because the ips patch alters the ROM. Like, joe said , as long as the checksum passed on the original rom, you've got nothing to worry about.

That is normal. No need to fix. If you are hard-patching them, I suggest you soft-patch instead so you can keep the clean rom.

Use NSRT to scan the roms and the one in the database you keep, the others you can delete. GoodSNES can do this too. No point having multiple copies of roms that are unidentified.

.. or better, fix them, or trim them, or butter your toasts with them.

Ah, sorry, the latter option only exists in Nach's special build.

And that's one awesome option, I might add. :D ZSNES Toaster Plugin is really handy when used in tandem with NSRT.
