Zelda 1 BS won't run with new Zsnes WIP
Zelda 1 BS (translated version) worked before with the Zsnes I downloaded in january but won't run it anymore. I haven't made any changes of configuration, it just simply doesn't work. Why?
Is this some hard-patched version of Zelda 1 BS? Try running an unpatched, original version of the game and see if it works.
Otherwise, you can try running your translated version with each WIP, going back until you find the most recent one that works. Then the devs can figure out what changed to make your game un-runnable.

By my testing, "BS Legend of Zelda 1 - Kodai no Sekiban (J)" works in neither ZSNES 1.42 or the 10/08 WIP.
mattiac, is this the game you're trying to play? And what is the actual version number of the ZSNES you're using? Go to Misc->About in ZSNES.

If not for Clements correcting you, I'd have good reason to bash your head in.Agozer wrote:Bandai Satellaview [X]. A network addon for the SNES that didn't last very long nor was ever brought to the US.Mike231x wrote:What does the BS part stand for in certain roms anyway?
Not a single game released for the system was made by Bandai, you have no reason to think Bandai had anything to do with it.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Ok, fair enough. I won't make this mistake again.Nach wrote:If not for Clements correcting you, I'd have good reason to bash your head in.Agozer wrote:Bandai Satellaview [X]. According to the ZSNES FAQ, it was actually the Sufami Turbo that was released by Bandai.Agozer wrote:Ok, fair enough. Since this thread got bumped anyway...
I believe he was referring to Zelda no Densetsu (part 1). Kodai no Sekiban is part 3.
Anyway, whoever wrote the Zelda 1 "intro / name entry screen" code for Zelda no Densetsu (Roto?) didn't know how to program properly and performed DMAs at random times with the screen on.
Thus, you get nothing but gibberish for all the screens he added. He also does something stupid with swapping out the main character sprites too. So you change between the girl and boy depending on the direction you're facing.
The unmodified ones (plural) won't work in any emulator to my knowledge. Haven't tried recently.
