You haven't tied other SNES emulators? Maybe the issue will be fixed in Zsnes 2.0...?

Yeah, got the laptop about a month ago. I would suspect that it is a problem related to some HP software. I don't have a Vista install disk to fix things, so I don't want to screw around with removing it. First chance I get, I will install Linux.
