I dunno about that. What was that company a while back, making clones of the old IBM 101 key keyboards. You know the ones built like a tank. They were charging around that amount for one.MisterJones wrote:That's quite crazy for a keyboard. I got mine for ~15 usd.
As for cheap the local Wal-Mart has things going for around $5 USD, but have the 3 key problem.
any cheap keyboard with intelligent key selection.
my cheap 14 dollar logitech keyboard lets me press up to 4 keys at once, not including modifier keys.
control, shift, alt - use them and save yourself some money, hell Delete, home. insert and pgup/dn work too.

Just picked up this - fucking love it:
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-diNovo-M ... 039&sr=1-2
Got it from this guy, super cheap, works great:

so $34.99 bid and $14.95 shipping gets you a keyboard and leaves 60.81 aud in your pocket! that's plenty to get a lapdance at the local strip club, then come home and play with your new keyboard and self.

Why would you want a wired keyboard? They're just about as stupid as wired mice and corded phones.franpa wrote:that isn't wired, thus a useless suggestion to me.casualsax3 wrote:Just picked up this - fucking love it:

im not after functionality, im after quality.
and yea i don't want to waste money on getting wireless since i doubt my keyboard will EVER leave my computer desk. (i don't care about 1 extra wire going into my tower.)
edit: something like http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... NTID=10662 will do me good, but i prefer the classic key layout and not how they merged the pgup, pgdown, home, end, delete and insert keys onto the top of the numpad... recessed keys and USB would be great as well...

To be fair, he's not a CHEAP son of a bitch if he's talking about spending a hundred bucks on a keyboard.phOnYmIkE wrote:why the fuck would any person on the planet need to press more than 2 keys at ANY time on a keyboard? get a fucking controller you cheap sons of bitches!

Well, unless there's like a 10:1 exchange rate between US and Australian dollars.
that doesn't have the design flaw that limits the majority of key combinations to a maximum 2 keys at any time?funkyass wrote:get one of these
and a gamepad is not the best for everything, else why do we play games on the computer?
edit: i don't think i want to spen 1.5k USD on a friggin optimus maximus keyboard

The Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard is a much cheaper alternative to the diNovo. It has 18 programmable macro keys, and I believe it is corded.

You should be able to get one under $100 AUD.

The G15 dies after a month of use.
you all need to understand that this limitation that franpa is trying to cure is zonal, not keyboard wide.
in general most keyboards only support two keypress per row of letters.
