I'm who he's trying to connect with. Both of our firewalls are off, all of them. Sorry, but we're newbies at this type of stuff. I looked at the threads at the top of the page but all they did was confuse me even further. Could someone please help us?

EDIT: ^The IP address was changed to match his ( 192.168.1.102 ) but nothing yet, still.

Looks like you (Shady_User) are hosting, instead of trying to connect to someone else's comp. Make sure you are clicking on the correct button.

slpy_jack, your picture shows you trying to connect to a local IP on your friend's machine, which is not possible. He needs to determine his ip @ http://www.whatismyip.com

My friend is starting as server, and I'm trying to connect to server. Is that wrong?

EDIT: Thanks, he got his IP right this time. But I'm not sure what to do after it says "found client." It just stops there...

It looks better if you host, and he connects, since he is on a router.

He needs to tell his router's firewall to open/forward port 7845 for both UDP and TCP for incoming and outgoing traffic. Otherwise, if worse comes to worse, he could just put the comp being used for netplay out of the DMZ.

You need to specify what you are confused about.

You need to configure your router to accept data on that specific port, or ZSNES will fail to connect to your friend (or the other way around, depending on who is hosting). The instructions on the big netplay help thread describes the basic idea of what you have to do. If the firewall tweaking doesn't work, you will have to put your comp out of the DMZ (meaning, the firewall will not restrict data coming to that comp).. which should pretty much guarantee connectivity.

Also, if it's of any help, my friend can connect to another computer (laptop) in his own house using the same router. Doesn't seem like it will change anything though.

Seems we got it going. Don't know how, though. We basically followed the guide, got into his Linksys router, and put the port number for anything that said port on it. >.>;

Thanks for all the help, guys!
