SPC players

Post by kevman »

http://nova.polymtl.ca/~jevalb/

This guy built an FPGA-based SPC emulator. I'm curious how much of the hardware is emulated at the hardware level and how much is just software.

Anyway, the third SPC in the song is from a game I've never heard before.

It goes:

1. DKC
2. FF6
3. Castlevania 4
4. FF6 Boss Battle
5. SMRPG My Name is Bukki
6. Starfox
7. Zelda 3
8. FF6
9. Starfox
10. Chrono Trigger
11. I don't know WHAT THE FUCK THAT IS
12. Tetris Attack
13. DKC again
14. FF6
15. ??
16. ??
17. ff6
18. DKC
19. FF6
20. FF6
21. SMRPG
22. Killer Instinct
23. SMRPG
24. SMRPG
25. Kirby's SuperStar
26. Kirby's SuperStar
27. SMRPG
28. ToP (?)
29. Chrono Trigger
30. Kirby SuperStar
31. Chrono Trigger
32. Kirby SuperStar
33. FF6
34. SMRPG
35. SMRPG
36. ToP
37. Super Mario
38. Super Mario
39. Yoshi's Island
40. Yoshi's Island
41. ToP
42. Chrono Trigger
43. Kirby
44. ToP
45. FF6
46. SMRPG (Original SMB Music)
47. ToP
48. Kirby

The guy says there's 15 different games. But I really want to know what the third track is. Any help?

Indeed you are right. Its called "Bloody Tears" in the snesmusic.org SPC set. Thanks.

I edited yours and Clement's entries. I didn't verify Killer Instinct or Tetris Attack, I've never played them.

Kinda embarrassed about missing that FF6 one, though.

Fun stuff.

15 is ALSO FF6. It's the third part of the climb to fight Kefka.
16 is also from Castlevania, I just can't remember which part or if it's actually from DraculaX, although I owned Super Castlevania 4 and I can recall that whole song.

  • S-SMP: an 8-bit microprocessor executing a pogram. In my project, this device is emulated in software with some hardware accelerator. The software is a port of SNES9x to NIOS II configurable processor.
  • D-DSP: decodes and mixes sound samples. Produces some audio effects, too. In my project, it's implemented as custom hardware. All features are implemented except noise generation, GAIN volume envelope and gaussian interpolation.
