Well i can't speak for all australians, but me, i've never had time for xbox(360) or PS(1/2/3).

I'm a firm Nintendo supporter :D

I guess Australia is taking the Xbox 360 just like Japan is.

However, Australia has a population that is smaller than the state of California. I doubt that MS cares that much. I know that here in Canada the Xbox 360 is far more popular than the PS3.

I think the XBOX360 is more popular than PS3 in lots of places.

360 is second only to the Wii

it's interesting, but the guys they talked to didn't seem to know much about what they're talking about

had they simply said that shooters don't sell well, it'd make a lot more sense than halo was the only good game.

anything else i say makes me sound fanboyish. i do own a 360, and i do enjoy it. i wouldn't mind a ps3, but i haven't seen a game that i need yet. and i don't have an HDTV. the 360 goes into my monitor, and i haven't seen that kind of option for sony's machine.

Can't you use an HDMI->DVI adapter?
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

hadn't thought of that.

hm.

i would then need money to afford a ps3, and i would want to unscrew my computer from the monitor. pc is in the dvi, 360 in the vga. at least i know i can do that now.

it'll still be awhile if i ever buy one. and it would probably just be a blu-ray player with the occasional blockbuster. but i'm talking at least a year or two down the line, there.

If I recall, PS3 requires HDCP on any HD content, including games.

Right now the PS3 is quite affordable over here (since taxes make it cost basically the same as the 360). I'd buy it over the XBox just because it's newer hardware makes me think it's still not exploited to it's fullest. That being said, some games run crapily in it.

A couple of friends that work in hardware stores however have told me they don't intend to restock on 360s after July this year as they're "sure" a new Microshit console is coming. I don't see much logic in that, but it's pretty widespread over here.

You can also use a HDTV Tuner card, in the same fashion as yo do with a regular SDTV Tuner.

Or is that what a HDMI>DVI converter actually is?

HDMI *is* DVI, just a different form factor along with audio built in.

Actually I can see why the xbox 360 is more popular than the ps3, it has eternal sonata and teh RPGs. I really don't want a ps3. But if I were to get a system it would be the wii.

it would have been better to name mass effect or lost odyssey. eternal sonata is ridiculously pretty, though

although mass effect is going to pc's this summer

and my monitor is HDCP compatible, a syncmaster 245BW (samsung) running at 1920x1200. love the black friday

Microsoft's next console will be a complete turnaround, the XBox 540. Featuring a Intel 80286 Processor and an 8088 PPU, it will feature 8-bit colour! It will include Halo 4, a graphics hack of megaman 3. Price: $1599.
In order for the unit to remain functional, the user will need to connect the X-box 540 Modem, which will transfer huge amounts of usage information at the astounding rate of 14.4kbps. This service will be based on a usage fee of 30$ an hour connected to Microsoft's DUU(Dial-Up Update) service.

Was that REALLY worth necromancing the thread?
Especially since it wasn't even funny.
