Feature Request: Rom Load Snapshot
If you can find time how about adding a feature that allow the showing of a snapshot of the game in the loading "window" where avaliable?

I didn't know about that. ;o I hope there'll be an option to keep the old one, or something...Ichinisan wrote:I'm sure a feature like this will come anyway when the new GUI materializes...

They've been talking of an eventual new GUI that will. of course, be created in C.
This only makes sense. The only real benefit of Asm code is speed, which is completely negligible while emulation is suspended and the GUI is active. Creating a GUI in C will mean starting from scratch, but the current GUI has a lot of room for improvement anyway.

This would require some kind of picture database, which would significantly increase zsnes' size.

ZSNES could show the picture of the first available savestate, or leave it blank.

Good idea. I like that.
As far as the new GUI. I don't think we have to worry about that for quite some time. It's been talked about for such a long time now, I can't even remember when.

Doesn't ZSNES have the option to make a state when you exit the emulator while a game is running, then auto-load that state when the game is loaded?
It would be good if this "initial" savestate is displayed instead if the first slot, or perhaps overridden by "romname.bmp" (or PCX, PNG, etc).
Grin: I don't think anyone would have suggested bundling images with ZSNES. Be a little bit more creative
