Make ZSNES Utilize 64-bit PulseAudio?

Post by wswartzendruber »

Does anyone know how to get 32-bit ZSNES to utilize a 64-bit PulseAudio sound server?

Why?
PA is crap.

Use OSS4, not alsa.

Because this entirely answered his question.

Even if his question is/was unanswerable due to a problem with PA, PA is crap isn't a good reason. At least someone should explain a technical reason for PA not working with in this manner before alternatives are suggested.

OT: Also I like OSS4 but so many programs do the ALSA stuff I had to move back.

You may want to try forcing ZSNES to use a different sound driver.

E.g. zsnes -ad oss (for the oss driver), zsnes -ad sdl (sdl driver), or zsnes zsnes -ad alsa (alsa driver).

What does the -r 6 mean?

Code: Select all

  -r # Set sound sampling rate:
             0 = 8000Hz  1 = 11025Hz 2 = 22050Hz 3 = 44100Hz
             4 = 16000Hz 5 = 32000Hz 6 = 48000Hz

Nach has seen it.

If you have libao PulseAudio installed, you should be able to use it, try zsnes --help and see what you have listed under -ad.

Also, it's probably a bad idea to use PulseAudio, but hey, it's your funeral, enjoy!
