Weird sounds

Post by Woven »

Hi, I'm playing Chrono Trigger on ZSNES, and I'm on a mac computer.
For some reason I keep hearing these "BEEP!" sounds during fight. Like, when anyone or anything is hit, ZSNES plays the sound of the actual hit, and then the "BEEP!" sound at the same time.
Anyone know why it's like this?

I'd say that's something with your comp... probably some background app that's making that happen. It is a good idea to close unneeded and unnecessary background apps.

Do you have any clue what it could be?
I only had Skype, Spotify, MSN and Safari up at that time. Well, and ZSNES too... but yeah. I'll try to close them and see what happens.

EDIT:
Kay, I tried closing all applications but ZSNES, nothing changed at all. I got my laptop just about 11 months ago, so I'm not sure if anything's wrong with the sound card or anything like that.
I run other games and such fine.

Also, the screen kind of flashes black during battle and such.

I know nothing about mac's, but is the beep sound coming from your speaker or the system speaker(the one in the case, if mac's have it)?

Actually, I'm an idiot. =P
I downloaded ZSNES 1.43 or something, while there was a newer version that's 1.51, although unofficial.
It seems to work fine so far with 1.51, so, my bad.

You got it backwards;

1.43 is the unofficial, unsupported one.

Really? o.O
Weird, the site that linked to it said it was the unofficial one. Oh well. No wonder it was weird then.
Thanks.
