Nice ZSNES Colour Schemes

Post by Clements »

Inspired by grinvader's ZSNES GUI pic, I would like to see some ZSNES colour schemes and what settings are needed for it etc.

I have no idea where this topic should go so I put it here since it's related to ZSNES.

Anyhoo, I gave it a shot :-

Looks really cool, who in their right mind doesn't like the GUI?

Zsnes would not be the same if it had a windows type GUI. I love the way it is and I woould be devatated if it changed.

I like the custom colors, too. But don't you think that a Windows GUI would be easier to use?

Yes, but only because it would be easier to code, and wouldn't have the resolution limitation that the current GUI has.

No. One of the reasons I don't use Snes9x is because of the annoying hassle of that stupid windows environment. It doesn't hold a candle to the slick, quick, solid as brick Zsnes GUI.

I like JB's colours, you know, the golden GUI. He posted it in the old forum.

HQ filters can process the text much nicer, when the background color is similar to the shadow color. Like in the top menu - "GAME", "CONFIG"...

For example, try "Win: R9 G7 B12" - the text is sharp, the shadow is blured. Cool.

I like the default color palette. I don't think I've ever changed it.

Well... I am well used to the GUI at this stage, but when i started out with Zsnes, i only had a pc for about a month, and it was the first piece of software that i ever downloaded or anything, and i found the game selection menu to be really confusing.

Here is my favorite color scheme named: Zsnes Grayscale scheme AKA "My eyes don't hurt with this one." I didn't select the grayscale option on the video window.

Image

How does it look?

Back:
Red -5
Blue -5
Green -5

Window:
R 0
G 0
B 0

All maxed out to create the white.

Edit: I hope it isn't exactly the same as Adventure of Link's scheme.

If you're feeling patriotic, you can also set up a color scheme based on your country's flag's colors, such as for example red, white, and blue for the U.S. flag. :)

Back R-31 G-31 B-31

Title R-31 G-0 B-0

Using a different color scheme or switching to a windoze GUI just wouldn't be the same. It's like using the warm and fuzzy XP themes. It's different and I don't like it.

Mexandrew, that style is like mine, but with a few differences. For instance, your "game config cheat netplay misc" bar (or whatever you can that thing, enlighten me please :)) has a white background, my ZSnes is all black. Also, I got a nice snow effect, as I said a few posts back.
PS: Feel free to copy my style

Tightass. I love it, but I changed the "Title" part a little because it looks a bit more orange than gold. And, is that the smoke effect enabled?
