Rewinds and Save State help

All right, let me get this clear before I say anything. I just got this program a few minutes ago so I'm not yet sure how exactly it works. So here's the point:

I was playing Super Mario World. Level 1. Jumped into a Banzai Bill's face on accident. And I died, of course. During that time I was trying to figure out how to do a rewind so that I wouldn't lose the life. Couldn't find the right key. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing, or at least provide a link to help?

(Also: what's the save state directory?)

This is the part where most people would read the manual.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

if it's not for a speed run or anything, take the hit and continue playing.

but before doing that, follow agozer's advice and RTFM
