saving is an issue

ok i will tell you everything i know about what i have done and you can help me if there is a error i am making.

1 i downloaded the dos version of zsnes
2 i extracted the fles
3 i dowqnloaded a rom, final fight
4 i opened the game
5 i played it
6 pick a state
7 i saved the state
8 i left the game
9 i went back into the game
10 i tried to open the state but it didn't work

i have tried with many games but have had no luck..it does save the game but once you leave and go back to open it, it does not work...? is anyone else un able to save ?

Find the folder containing your game files, then check the folder properties. Make sure that the "read-only" property is not selected. If it is, de-select the box and click "OK". Check again to make sure that the property change sticks. If it didn't take, you must apply the changes to a parent directory (a folder higher in the nested structure).

If your games are stored on a CD-ROM, the read-only property cannot be changed. You must edit the ZSNES configuration file with a text editor to specify a folder on your hard drive for ZSNES to use as a save directory.
