Madcatz controller issue

Ive read the other threads and havn't foun that their is a solution to the controller problem for the Madcatz usb controller. as soon as i go to config it it freezes. if i manually config it the L and R buttons become the same buttons, has anyone figured out what to do? snes9x works fine with this controller but when you are playing certain games its all crappy graphics and screen flickers, i love zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) but it hates my new controler.

I just bought the same controller and I'm already having problems. In fact, I'm having the same problems as Dill. Can somebody help us out?
