Sidewinder use on XP

Post by MancombSeepgood »

I just found my good ol' sidewinder controler and was hoping I could use it for ZSNES. However, it doesn't recognze that it even exsists. I tried downloading drivers from microsoft, but they were only for win95 or 98. HELP!

That's odd. Before mine broke, I was using it just fine on XP.

Is this the gameport model, or the USB model?

Then it shouldn't require any particular drivers, and it's very true that there are no XP drivers for it.

Guess how I feel having two gameport SideWinders just collecting dust on the shelf...
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

So I went and bought a new controller. However, now ZSNES freezes everytime I try and configure. What's the deal?

I use a Microsoft Sidewinder USB, the one with the "round" pad, 6 face buttons and two shoulder buttons in XP with no problems on zsnes.

I love those controllers, need to buy a few new ones, because my last one bit the dust from the wheels of my office chair.
