Need help and out of ideas.

I don't have a router or a firewall, but I just can't seem to connect. My friend finds me as a client, but it won't connect. Any idea what my problem might be?

Sounds like your friend needs to forward some ports.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Does it happen with everyone or just that one friend?

Happens with everyone. I've tried with over a dozen people which is why I figured it had to be my problem. He's also been able to play fine with other people so I don't think the problem is on his end.

Are you sure you don't have a firewall?

i guess that happens to a lot of people. It's happened to me a lot of times too, who knows what the problem could be more than likely you or the other person is using different versions of the zsnes. Mabye you both should play the same versions of zsnes for it to work.

AFAIK, both need the same version of the emulator, since the core changes between emulators are crucial in terms of keeping the game in sync.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Problem has been solved!!No more port forwarding!
Get this program here www.hamachi.cc
The connection is made through their servers, you get a new ip from them ,no need to forward ports, just enter the new ip and it will work
And yes.. make sure you have the exact version of the emulator and the exact roms with identical names and all..
