Bug in movie recording with big roms

Post by Skiessi »

When you try to record a movie starting from [Power ON] or [Power ON+SRAM Clear] in "Super Demo World - The Legend Continues"* (as example), you'll see only a black screen.

*=if someone doesn't know SDW-TLC, it's a Super Mario World hack and the rom is a. 6MB

You can't expect Zsnes to work properly with Hacks.

Edit: Never mind

However, games should allow hacks to be applied for the game. There was a notable Super Demo World speedrun that existed prior.

This bug was explicitly fixed before releasing 1.50.

Well, it appears it has worked for a long while, certainly 1.17 works with it. So, yes, it has worked for at least 6 years.

Ah, yeah, the SMW editor can create 6MB ROMs but IIRC it uses ExHiROM while SDW:TLC uses ExLoROM for whatever reason, or vice-versa. I thought neither were supported, because I know there's been trouble getting 6MB SMW hacks to run.

No. SDW:TLC is ExHiROM.
SDW:TLC Readme wrote: Thus, you should take the original Mario World US ROM and use Lunar
Expand (included in this zip file for convenience) to convert the
ROM to a 48 Mbit ExHiROM (it's the top right option in the program).
THEN apply the IPS file to it.
