The proposed legislation makes the future for German game companies unclear. One company, Far Cry and Crysis developer Crytek, has already made known its plans to relocate to another country should the any legislation of this kind be made law.
Yeah, that's probably for the best.

well i dont blame the companies for leaving the country if it happens, but it seems pretty crazy to me, video games can have a affect on you, but only if you play them overkill in my opinion.

prehaps it is for the best, but i want more substansial proof that videogames were one of the main causes of the shootings before i agree

if u play games in moderation, then nothing of that sort should happen, and if you cant help yourself then your family or friends should be

im just glad i dont live in germany

It certainly has nothing to do with people living in Germany.

It is all about people being douchebags when not knowing the difference between fiction and reality.

NO
I couldn't tell if that was from the horrible spelling or the headbanging commentary.

I just don't know anymore.

Though really, if it was the spelling I would have picked one of his honest to god linguistical stupidities instead of a typographical error.

I can see why the Nazi sign would be banned in Germany though, I figure they should get arrested for making a video game with the Nazi sign in Germany. As for people getting arrested for shooting a video game character, that's just dumb.

No. Just no.

Sure, gaming can temporarily alter your impression of the world around you (eg. after playing a fast-paced racing game), or cause automatic responses because you're still reacting in "game mode" and haven't switched over to real life yet.

But the systematic planning and execution of a killing spree is a completely different thing. You have to be fucked up already from the inside to actually do that. I don't believe gaming can change you like that, ever.

I guess that the German people have more important things to "fight" for than videogame regulation.

Sorry about the spelling mistake (the result of too many late nights I suppose)

Maybe they should just ban games they think are inapropriate entirely?

Its definitely better then sending someone to prison for "killing" a "person" in a videogame

That's what someone in the REAL world would do.

But since like 10 years ago, earth is no longer a real world...

Earth hasn't been the "real world" since the 70's, too many fumes from too many drugs still floating around.

True, but I think they should still fight against video game regulation as well.

But what would be considered cruelty?

If you had to hit or shoot a human enemy multiple times to kill it, would that be considered cruelty?

If you killed another human enemy in one attack would that be different because you gave it a quick and painless death?

This law just covers too wide a spectrum to be effective.

HELLO WORLD:

PLEASE GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND STOP BLAMING VIDEO GAMES FOR THE CAUSE OF ALL VIOLENT CRIMES!

It's sickening, really. People just need something other than themselves to point the blame finger on and take out their aggression from their own pitiful meaningless lives.

Maybe if they tried venting by playing a video games, they wouldn't have to propose such stupid legislation.

They did that in the forties and it didn't work out then.

Why? People don't become nazis by looking at a swastika. At least not more in Germany than anywhere else.
