ZSNES how much better did they get? been years..

Post by Zero523 »

Hey guys i havnt used an EMulator in years.. probably about a good 4 years..And i was wondering how much better are they.. Do the graphics look identical to the original Super Nintendo?, Because i was playing Chrono Trigger.. My favorite RPG of all times.. and i remember the faces during the Character naming list looked perfect.. but when i use it on my ZSNES 1.36 it looks a little pixely not too bad but still pixely
Is there a configuration i should put it on .. the screen is small.. wont let me get to full screen.. i put the resolution to 1020X786 with Vsync..(Which fixed the scrolling of the page) i think thats the only mod i use but it wont let me get to full screen.. it used to but i purchased an ATI 9800 PRO AIW.. Please let me know
Thanks in Advance

Look at the top of this forum for the link to the latest version of ZSNES, we've had tons of progress in the past 4 years.

Try 640x480 with Interpolation at first, then the other resolutions and filters. For some (HQ?X) you'll need a fast system.

You wouldn't know it if you've never been here. The last official release was well over 2 years ago now. The last update on the main page was well over a year ago as well.

Of course the graphics aren't going to be identical to the real super nintendo. The real SNES ran on a TELEVISION. When playing any console game on a computer monitor it is naturally going to look pixelated. Unless of course you apply a nasty interpolation filter or something.

Well, Snes9x has a "TV Mode" filter that looks pretty good. I've been using it for awhile now and it looks almost identical to any regular TV. And in Zsnes, for people deprived of decent computers, I would suggest the Super Eagle filter to get rid of those annoying pixels.

Get the latest work in progress edition, and enable HQ2x or HQ3x, you'll be glad you did (unless your PC isn't in the 1.5 GHz neighborhood or above).

If your pc is slow, then try one of the dr video modes. The giant black borders will most probably take a bit of getting used to, especially if you normally use a full screen stretch, but it is worth it, in my opinion
