Looking for icons...
First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I figured this would be the best home for my question.
Does anyone have good icons for various ROM and chiptune files? I hate staring at a million default icons, and my artistic skills (not to mention my time) are too lacking to design any myself. Casual googling and searching the board didn't help.
I'm currently spoiled by having my new box hooked up to the TV, and I'd like everything to look pretty.

First, here's some proof that a new pack exists:

Just read the changelog for the 0.114u3 release.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, what I'm looking for are icons of cartridges. For example, for .SMC etc, I'd like to have an icon of a SNES cartridge. I found some icons that are great for older OSes (y_tvgame288), but being low-res don't look so good in Vista (or any other OS in a high-res icon mode).
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

I know this is an old thread but I think that others may want some nice icons since they are very difficult to find. These are my favorite emulation icons, probably the best on the net in my opinion:

I personally use the icons from the first link for the folders in my rom DVD. They really make the folders a lot better. I'm going to make my own personal emulation icon set soon too. I might post it as well when I'm finished with it.

Is IcoRoms what you're talking about? I liked those too a long time ago before icons with alpha-channels came about. Now I can't stand to look at them anymore. Ewww. Especially when Windows XP resizes them to 48x48 in Tiled view.Gil_Hamilton wrote:I used to have a good set of icons, but I seem to have lost it...
Dammit.
I lie. I found it.
But I don't have anywhere to upload it, or an idea where to get it.
Files emul.ico, and it originally came with an executable that set ROM image file associations.

I like the harder icon look. And I don't use tile view.
Either details view or standard icons, depending on what I'm doing.
Usually details view, which is how I lost track of the file in the first place. Icons that small aren't useful.
I found a rather cool icon pack containing icons for nearly every console. You can find previews and the download at http://www.ix.sakura.ne.jp/~yoshi/icon/game/
Maybe this is what you're looking for.
