Another Segamaniac!!!!Good quality products need very little marketing to sell well in the real world I believe.People thought they were getting stiffed when Sega kept flooding them with all these consoles and add-ons and what not.And creating an atmoshpere where the customers feel ripped off is ba...

Recently? I could have told you that 2 years ago. It was going to be one of the few games with Surround Sound, but hence it was canceled. Well that answers that problem. However according the gamefaqs the game did get an EU release but I can't find that rom anywhere..... Don't take that as gospel. ...

Actually, I don't think it's that bad of an idea to maybe offer a discription line for a savestate. The picture obviously gives you a great hint as to what your savestate is, but sometimes it would be nice to have say a few word description with it. Some of my savestates are black screens because I...

Ahhh thanks for the tips, mucho appreciated. One feature request I'd like to leave before I go.I'd really love to see eventually an option to custom name each save slot in the next version because I bet many people forget what slot holds which save after a while of shuffling around through their fav...

By TV output do you mean he actually plugged the video output of the NES into his computer (or something) and used software to pickup the colors? Pretty much. Here's what he says in the readme for 4.0: I hooked up my NES to a Snappy video capture device, took a whole bunch of screenshots, and extra...

Looks a good bit nicer now. I still say someone should just emulate the whole dang color generation system instead of relying on a pallete. Sure, but until such a time, you can still use the most visually pleasing palette available. Indeed. Though that black&white one was fun... Did you find it...

If you look at the value of the color in a hex-editor, you'll see that it is a balanced blue-green combination—exactly the same amount of blue and green. I think I read somewhere that the human eye can detect green better than red or blue. Or maybe just shades of green. I'm red-green colourblind. Y...

Yes, the human eye is most sensitive to the color green. So it's not too surprising when these little issues come up about the color. And least sensitive to blue. http://nfg.2y.net/games/ntsc/visual.shtm Check it out! (link replaced with more comprehensive one) Someone explain the thing about black...

See, the GBA actually had the hardware to run GB(C) games on it, so having a GBA emulator be able to run GB(C) games is quite accurate. However, the SNES had no capability to run NES games, so adding an NES emulator to ZSNES would mean writing an entirely new emulation core. Actually, the hardware ...

nope, it didn't. The Fix command did indeed fix the rom, but I was unknowingly using an old version of ZSNES. I redownloaded it from the actual ZSNES site, and now all is well. The game is now almost *too* easy... maybe I should go back to the old way of not being able to aim properly? ;) Yes... li...

Only really glaring flaw I see is the lack of a true black. Your back is a light gray. It's a very dark grey, thank you very much. And the NES did not actually have a true black (at least in the U.S.). Or rather, it did , but it wasn't used because it damaged television screens. The true black is p...

Only really glaring flaw I see is the lack of a true black. Your back is a light gray. ... GAH! The greenish-blue is coming out as a blueish-green. This is where virtually every pallete I've ever seen fails. Metal Storm stage 2 and Final Fantasy's swamp cave make extensive use of this color, if you'...

I don't use the drivers for mine. Found it worked better without them. And yah, ZSNES doesn't care if you set the directions with the d-pad or analog stick. It maps the analog stick out the same as the d-pad as a convenience to people that want to use analog axes for buttons. First thing I'd do is g...

You say the "stretch widescreen" picture looks kinda ugly, but when you use a widescreen display (particularly for TV) you quickly become accustomed to things being stretched. I could never watch anything like that. Just as I currently open the menu on my 4:3 set when feeding it an anamor...

It's not real surround sound. It is a "surround sound effect" if I recall correctly. Also, I think I remember reading in the SNES documentation that the SNES uses some sort of crude low-pass filter. In addition, can somebody confirm a sound anomaly in Super Metroid for me? When Samus is r...

In that case if the native Res of a TFT is 1024, playing old 2D PC games & 2D Emus at 320x240 - 640x480 will look really bad when they're scaled to 1024. How about older consoles like DC, PSX & Saturn. What will they look like when they're scaled on the TFT? I'll have to consider all this b...

I've read this at another forum: The big thing that makes LCDs somewhat unsuitable for 2d games is the fact that they can only run in one resolution. So unless the game you're playing runs in the same res as your monitor's native resolution, you're going to get nasty scaling effects. These bother s...

I voted game fixes, of course. One thing I'd like to know is why some games stop working when you fix another game? If I'm not completely mistaken, you're not using hacks to fix specific games, but instead you're making emulation more accurate. And if that's the case, then why would more accurate e...

I was under the impression that the SNES actually used 15 bits per pixel, and the 16bpp requirement was placed by emus. I'm not sure how 1 bit would be useful for transparency effects, if you'd care to elighten me. The SNES doesn't do real transparency ala RGBA 4444 (for 16 bits). It uses 15 bits f...

The SNES uses a 16-bit palette. More like 15, 555 RGB. :þ The extra bit is for colour substraction/addition (the snes 'transparency'). I thought it was just to get things aligned along byte thresholds. ... Well, that and the fact that most PC video cards don't support 15-bit color. Sure you can ali...
