What's funny is I spent years annoyed by NTSC Nes output, and now there's a friggen filter for it! Gotta love emulation!

I can tell the difference between 32 and 44.1. 32 sounds a bit more "muffled". I havn't really been able to notice any difference in quality to 48, so I stick with 44.1

I also agree with recap. What he's asking for is to be able to play 256x224 non-interlaced on his card by having the top and bottom 8 lines left blank (for a total of 240). If I had the card, that's EXACTLY what I'd want too. The key point here is non-interlaced. With 512x448, he'd have to play all ...

I'm currently building all that, only I have 2-gig ram installed so far. I also have an SLI mobo from Asus, but I may sell it in favor of the newer "true" 2x16x SLI version. The only thing is I need over a thousand bucks to finish the build, which is taking me a while to save up for (keep ...

Well lets just say I prefer the way FBA runs for these specific systems over Mame. It wasn't so much about Neo Geo as it was an overall package of CPS hardware and Neo Geo. And to be honest, I felt it really did run the games smoother than Mame at the time I made the switch. Plus, I was able to hand...

For CPS1-2 and Neo Geo hardware, I found Final Burn Alpha to be the best emulator for those specific systems. In addition to that Final Burn Alpha (I call it FBA for short) is open source, so I started making my own changes and drivers to it for newer Neo Geo games. Often I would trade drivers and d...

I got around this subject's problem myself by using powerstrip to create a custom desktop resolution of 512x448x60Hz. Then from there I set ZSNES to 512x448 window mode with 25% scanlines. Lastly, I made a profile in powerstrip to switch to 512x448x60Hz whenever ZSNES is executed, which reverts back...

Ok, cool. For a minute I was worried I had overlooked an option for header overwrites. Normally I'd just do it manually, but my archive is too big to do it rom-by-rom. It would take me quite some time that way.

No big deal since we can just turn off the warnings like you said. Thanks for the tip!

As far as I can tell, it doesn't have it. You can fix them individually with Nestopia, but it doesn't have an auto-fix option where you don't have to do anything. Maybe I missed that option, so I will check again. Edit: Nope, still can't find an option to have it auto-save corrected headers. Everyti...

Hey Marty, have you considered maybe adding a palette editor feature like Nesten has? That's the only reason I keep Nesten around. Would like to toss it in favor of a Nestopia palette function. Would also like to see an auto-ines header fixing option as a lot of my roms seem to have "garbage&qu...

Read that part again and tell me if you really needed to rolleyes over that, especially since you can create custom window modes for your card like 512x448 60hz.

Or get Powerstrip and create application profiles that allow you to set refresh rates, resolutions, and card oc levels. A great way to go if you use multiple emulators like I do.

Correctimundo. This was what I was originally trying to say, but got tricked when I checked window mode and forgot the game was running too fast. Getting back to the choppy scrolling: Anyone playing in something other than 60hz for NTSC games, like 85hz for example, WILL have choppy scrolling whethe...

Unless maybe you used TV-out I think. Other than that, you'd have to filter the colors. It would still be nice to have that pure data though.

Actually, I run @ 87Hz now, and I still don't experience ripping and tearing... I ran between 60-85Hz in Windows, depending on which one I was using. (I just ran 98SE, 2000, XP, server 2k3, and Longhorn 4074 on here...) PS: kevman: 60+15=75. Edit: I take back what I said. It appears window m...

FirebrandX: just so you know, my 'A' and 'B' palettes are not based directly on the composite video output. I'm aiming more for the "best" version of the RF output—it just looks better in most cases. ;) Once I'm satisfied with that, I may go about making the "composite standard"...

Glad somebody mentioned this, or I would not have known the newer ZSNES versions no longer allow my fixed BS Zelda rom to work. Ok the first is a screen capture from the NES, which shows some green in the border graphics, while the other pic from ASQREALA shows almost completely black and white graphics in the border. I would agree printed colors aren't very accurate, but the paper used in the Guide Book appears to not have faded at all (at least not my copy), probably due to the "waxy" coating on them. At any rate, the colors for Zelda mostly look the same, except a few here and there are quite differe...

Here's another thing to consider: Nintendo's own screen pics from their dev RGB hardware output. I'm looking at my old Nintendo Players Guide Book for the NES and colors that appear light-cream on TVs are actually bright yellow in their screen pics taken from RGB output. The book covers dozens of ga...
