96KHz sound

Hello,

Could support for 96KHz sound be added to ZSNES?

Hey guys, I just got a new computer with an 8800GTS 512MB, and the crashes now happen on this computer, too. When I disable hardware acceleration in the DirectX diagnostics utility, the problem disappears (and of course other problems appear). The workaround works, but I can't use KitchenSync anymor...

Alright. No worries then.

I also just noticed that if I'm in a DS Windowed mode, toggling the NTSC filter on and off changes the size of the window.

Disable setting the screen mode when changing filters

(This is a very minor request.) Would it be feasible to change ZSNES so that when filters are chosen, the display mode isn't set again? I just find it a little annoying.

Wouldn't that problem because Quickplay isn't starting ZSNES with focus? Loading files with the command-line works fine for me, so perhaps you should contact the Quickplay author.

I think that some of these problems will be fixed if you download the latest WIP version. You'll also want to change the save path from within ZSNES's options.

Perhaps you could try using GDB or something to quickly work out where the crash is occurring, so that the developers can fix the problem.

It's emulating a SNES, so just save the way you would on the real thing. (You can also use the F2-F3 keys to produce instant saves, but they aren't as reliable, and you could end up using them to cheat.) If you want ZSNES to automatically save and load when you quit and restart, enable the "Aut...

I'm pretty sure that the problem is with Windows, and not ZSNES. (Unless you're requesting that ZSNES also disables the monitor power-off feature of Windows when the "disable screensaver" options is active. That'd be pretty handy.)

Uhm, who said that normal harddrives wear out that way? Flash drives do, but not mechanical disks. I just did, but I'm not much of a hardware person, so please forgive my ignorance. Could you please explain how and why they wouldn't wear out from continually extracting and deleting files? If anythi...

Load ROMs from stdin?

I posted a similar request a few days ago on the NSRT forum, and I just realised that ZSNES could also benefit from the ability to load a ROM from stdin. I guess at start-up it could read the entire thing into memory and then keep it there until the session ends. I think this would be useful because...

I think that when a PNG screenshot is taken, if any background is visible, it should have an opacity of zero.

There is a big difference in speed between the DOS and Windows versions. I recommend that you use the DOS version in Windows 98, and use one of the ModeQ resolutions. Also make sure not to use vsync, triple buffering, or any filters. I used to be able to get around 40+ FPS with ZSNES on my Pentium-M...
