Yes,but that's not always true. Imagine this situation: You have an old machine with Dual-Channel DDR400 system memory and an old 64MB AGP GFX card with slow 200MHz DDR framebuffer.Run any emulator at 1600x1200 or higher resolution with a HQ3x/4x filter. Emulation with software filters will always r...

The xbox shares main memory with video memory (no blitting required) so you don't need to worry about the copying. Thats why it runs so fast. Is there an option in ZSNES (the standard PC version) to force the emulator to use System Memory instead of VRAM for graphics display (as in NEStopia)? That ...

Will we ever see this in a Genesis emulator or a VGM player? Quote from Wikipedia: Another curious modification to the Genesis hardware is to replace the stock 68000 processor with a 68010. Since the CPU isn't socketed, this requires the removal of the old CPU, and soldering in of the new. The 68010...

1. Kid Icarus. One of the best Nintendo games ever, comparable to Metroid and Zelda. I hope a Wii or DS sequel is released. If they can make it better than the phenomenal GameBoy version,it'll be like heaven :) 2. A Donkey Kong (Country) platform game _not_ by RARE. 3. Solar Striker - Do you remember N...

Here's a good read: http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=119630 Feature comparison (XM7.1 vs. X-Fi): http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/auzentech/meridian2.php The Auzentech Meridian 7.1 is fantastic as an audiophile/HTPC card. It may be not that good for gaming (if hardware processing and ...

I have a few 'oxidized' cartidges which turned all yellow :) All Nintendo cartridges begin to 'rot' after some time, even the tough US SNES cartridges. I've seen rotten Gameboy,NES,SNES and even N64 cartridges. The old GameBoy,NES and SNES consoles are most susceptible to this plastic rot.Haven't see...

Target Earth's story was heavily censored and cut during the translation, even more than the Assault Suits Valken one. That's why I'm looking for a fan- translated one And speaking of HARD games, try Jim Power for the SNES. One of the hardest games ever made. The later levels are a nightmare, especially ...

Then,I think the very expensive X-Fi Elite Pro is the best solution for you (if you got the cash). The best of both worlds. Who the #$%# needs 192kHz anyway? It's just a silly marketing trick with no benefit at all. Actually, sound quality is even worse at 192kHz than at 96kHz.That's for all currently...

Any emulator using this (3D) filtering method?
http://www.hiend3d.com/smartflt.html
Looks like a 3D version of HQxX,judging from the demo.
The best I saw in emulators like ePSXe/PJ64,etc. was 2xSAI filtering.

Not when your noise floor is already far too low to hear... It'd really only matter for recording. 8dB difference for DACs (playback) is plenty, but the difference in the ADCs (recording) between the X-Fi Platinum and Elite Pro is much greater. I'd go for an E-MU (This is _not_ Creative, they were bo...

Re: Awesome!
Any plans of adding HQ5x and HQ6x in the future?
(useful for hi-res displays above 1600x1200)
Or HQxXS (with sprite smoothing)
