True, and I know that. But how do I set/configure/input the resolution I want? For example: I want to get zsnes on fullscreen at say, 720x576 (PAL), I know my videocard supports it, because I play dvd's on it on regular basis. I know it's possible, but does this mean I have to compile my own zsnes?

In some cases, yes. But you shouldn't need to. Not in HTML, but maybe (probably) in CSS and Javascript, you can.
