However, there are many clear differences between spiller and mog123 (I'll let you search for the corresponding threads), which will likely cause differences in how we'll react to their questions. Who's spiller? Who's the better one in the comparison, cause I actually don't know what's this whole a...

Let's say the core is written, I have the memory map (How do I get about doing the memory map?), ppu (this will be just a set of functions and calls, right?), i/o etc done also. Then I load the rom, Starts with PC=0, and just execute the functions according to the PC? Another thing, what system wou...

Writing up your own emulator?

Hey, I've been reading some docs about writing emulators, and I'm really getting into this stuff. Can someone tell me if I've understood it enough? Let's say I want to make a 6502 cpu core, so I have to make different variables for an accumulator, registers X, Y, flag status etc. and I come down wit...

And looking at a chip pinout for a couple minutes totally makes you an expert. ¬_¬ I didn't say anything like that, sorry if you got that impression. Ok, I see now that I had it all wrong - I was talking about the APU as a whole (ram, dsp, scp700), that's a detachable part in old rev SNES units, li...

SPC700

I've got a simple question: Does it communicate with the cpu, or just gets music data from it, decryps it and send the sound wave to audio out?
From my observation on the pinout, it's the latter.

Tech question.

Some emulators I tried with FF6 have one problem, they can't display the backgrounds in FF6 battles - so what is responsible for displaying/loading the backgrounds? Here's a screen of what it looks like: It looks almost the same on every early stage snes emu:

Hope to get some replies.

Then someone from nintendo thought of some graphic compression metods that could compress even 140 Mb! there were some games ( i htink 5 or 6) that used it (Far East of Eden Zero, SF2) Anyway, the info given here was good, gonna work on...

not quite.
this is what's needed for ToP:
ATVJ SHVC-LJ3M-01.
However this isn't mentioned under the mappers. bsnes has a 1J3M-01, and that is for 32 mb carts. L is for 48.

Sooo, any more help?

I always really though that umk3 was 48 MBit.

Now that things are clear (or almost)
Maybe some technical info on the mapper?
