I doubt this will start an OS flame war. The entire board vs. you is hardly a war. You'll be very hard pressed to find anybody that has any appreciable respect for Windoze Me. Even Microsoft appologized for it. If you must stick with a non-NT version of Windows, at least upgrad to 98SE. edit: topic ...

You can also do it with regedit, but that's a little risky if you don't know what you're doing. Your best bet is with a shortcut in the Startup folder on the Start Menu. It will try to launch all files in the Startup folder. At work, we've used a terminal emulator profile in the Startup folder (the ...

Are those prices in USD or AUD? If they're USD, that's a bit high. Newegg has the E6600 for $223 and the mobo for $85. And I'd get the E6420 and overclock it to save another $40.

First, props for being thorough. You really provided a lot of useful information, unlike a lot of other posts in this forum. Am I reading picture 3 correctly? It says your router's WAN address is 10.0.1.100, which would be a NATed address and not capable of receiving incoming connections, yet you po...

Is it a high definition TV? They tend to have too good picture quality and bring out all of the flaws in non-HD sources.

Yeah, at this point the worst thing you can do is wipe your computer clean. Doing so is tampering with evidence and almost an admission of guilt in itself. They already have all the evidence they need. If you must, shred some stuff that they may not know about, but don't delete everything.

Directory Recovery

I need a program that is able to repair a bad sector containing a directory on a FAT32 disk. The data files are still there but the directory entry is corrupted and unreadable. The files don't show up as lost in scandisk or undelete programs because they're still acounted for in the FAT. The only pr...

I haven't had any problem converting at 320x240 with Videora. Same with DVD Fab Decrypter Platinum. I never tried them at 640x480 and I don't use a TV out, though.

DVD Shrink tends to crap out on a lot of newer DVD's. DVD Decrypter does a better job, and the stuff that that won't handle, DVD Fab Decrypter usually will. DVD Decrpypter does have an option to verify data, but all 3 programs only handle video. What speed are you burning at and what brand media are...

A little info about your network setup would be helpful. Do you have a router and do you use a software firewall? There shouldn't be a reason to disable your firewall completely. It just needs to be configured correctly.
