Re: Blargg's NTSC Filter Question...

You'd probably be better off using Hyperspin if autohotkey is the only way to get the latest bsnes to start in fullscreen. It comes with ahk support to resolve stuff like that.

dxwebsetup.exe is indispensable. Though for me installing new Steam games tends to update Direct X all the time.

Cool. I had switched from using GT as my main SNES emulator to a 9x 1.53 testbuild.

Re: Graphical Front End

http://www.abload.de/img/hyperspinsmetzx9s.png Hyperspin is really snazzy. It took a lot of work getting all the artwork together and I had to fill out some of the database information and edit the themes to look the way I wanted. But it's really nice once you get it all set up and it will launch g...

Re: A guideline for the future

On Linux you'd probably be better off running Mednafen for SNES emulation since it actually gets updated. I tried out the Windows version of it and it ran Yoshi's Island really nicely besides some stuttering on my PC. But ZSNES and SNES9x also stutter on this, so you might not have that problem.

Re: Problem with video

You should try out SNESGT and bsnes. The latest versions of ZSNES and SNES9X both stutter on my Athlon 64 X2 8800GT Vista32 system. For SNESGT to run perfectly smooth I have Synchronous Update and CPU Sleep for Sync checked in the video options. In bsnes I think I used some kind of sync option.

Re: I have an HDTV I want to use as a monitor

if your tv is 720p, you're actually likely going to be better off going vga. that's the only way to get the panel's native resolution of 1360x768; via hdmi, you'll usually be limited to a scaled 1280x720. Glad I clicked on this topic for this bit of information. I have my 720p (native res is what y...

I've been watching the playthrough videos. Looks like they had fixed pretty much everything I thought was odd or buggy in the demo. It has an interesting plot and rather well written dialogue. It would have been nice to play, but if the 98% version is never leaked, watching those videos is enough fo...

Try checking both "Synchronous Update" and "CPU Sleep for sync" in the video options. That's what I have mine set to with Vista and I get a full 60 fps.

I've been playing the demo of Crimson Echoes and it's better than I expected. I'd say more engaging so far than the extra content in CT DS.

If you don't like ZSNES' interface just use SNESGT until ZSNES 2.0 comes out.

Just use ECC ( http://www.camya.com/ ): http://i44.tinypic.com/2h5r4on.png

That's with boxarts, but you can have it display title screens as well.

Just checked the AGTP forums and Gideon Zhi said he couldn't comment on Cave Story Wii just yet, so basically he is involved/probably getting credit :)

I found that turning off HQ filtering fixes the problem. It seems that ZSNES doesn't use filtering in hires mode, so that's why I never noticed a problem there.

In Seiken Densetsu 3 if you open the ring menu the screen stretches (I'm using the center aspect ratio) and everything slows down. Happens at the character select screen, the information menu screen, when spells are cast and probably other things too. This same bug occurs in other games as well. SoM...

On a whim I tried loading an unzipped ROM with this today and it didn't crash. If it had fast forward, rewind, and hq filters (features I've become far too accustomed to in ZSNES) I'd pry switch from ZSNES to this. Speed and sound are perfect. I love the GUI. It was pretty easy to zip through and co...

20 MB? Right now v5.3 is playing an MP3 here, at ca. 3.5 MB RAM usage (1.5 MB when running in the background). Impressive. There's so many ways to monitor RAM usage in Windows taskman and I'm not sure if I'm looking at the most accurate reading. Right now Winamp seems to be using about 16MB of Priv...

Doing some in_gme testing, I think what I don't like about the SPC playback in it is that it doesn't sound as loud or clear as SNESAmp. It's probably something I'd get used to though and not notice the difference after a while. Powell from the Seiken Densetsu 3 set sounds better on GME. In SNESAmp i...
