ROM CDs on ebay! (though admittedly, the ones I've seen lately were single game CDs. Possibly in an attempt to look legit.)

Yes, that's the easy way to tell. Clear cart = GBC-exclusive game = not compatible with SGB (or any monochrome GB). (you can tell that was the intent of the clear carts because they will block the power switch on an original model GB) And to quick-answer the OP's question: nope, the Oracle games are...

It'll work if they didn't change the RAM format. I suppose the only thing to do is to back up the FF6 save and then rename it to match the FF3 ROM. (back up the FF6 save first, because on the chance it isn't compatible, FF3 will probably nuke it) Of course, you'll probably have to put up with glitch...

The SNES never ran NES games. it will if you plug a super 8 into it. Isn't that mostly a Famiclone? And yeah, I'd have bought one if the NTSC version wasn't rare as hell (I hear the PAL version, TriStar is much easier to find). (thought admittedly, it's sorta pointless now since Famiclones are so c...

I would think the only way you could even possibly run BS games content would be to somehow detect and play recordings of the original broadcast. (getting those might be a problem. Not sure how much is on youtube, but the last time I tried, nico-video seemed to be pretty good at blocking VideoDownlo...

Only 24 years now.
But how long before 32-bit programming was actually commonplace?
I remember it not being pushed much until Win95.

Possibly too late for the answer, but as I recall, one of those codes should be the item value and the other the quantity value. Since you can't hold more than 1 non-healing-item in a slot, I'm not sure if the quantity value makes a difference, but you might as well try 01. Also, from what I remembe...

SNES Checksum calculation.

So, out of curiousity, I dumped my Slapstick cart with a tototek dumper. It dumped a 2MB ROM. I noticed it had a different CRC (FDF11B50) than the existing GoodSNES CRC (53FB163B). So I read Slapstick/Robotrek's proper size is 1.5MB. I cut off the last 512KB, then it results in the same CRC as the e...

Could it be applying the patch to de-translate the translated ROM?

If a US controller works, yes.
Though I believe official SFC controllers have a really short cord (if I remember the measurement, it was like 3 feet vs. 8 feet).
Not sure if that'd be a concern on a PC, though.

That one doesn't look official. Official US controllers have the "Super Ninendo Entertainment System" text logo printed on the front. The background of the ABXY button area is a darker gray with light colored button labels. (the only official variant I'm aware of is that the L and R Button...

The 3D Mario & Yoshi is either an original box, or a knockoff of an original box.
I had a couple of those Miico or Miitendo or whatever they are controllers, that was a clear knockoff of the official US controller. For some reason the B Button was REALLY stiff, compared to the other buttons.

GameFAQs claims you can get 30 lives by doing a Hadouken motion and pressing Start on the title. I cannot verify it. There's evidence in the Japanese ROM Konami at least planned a 30 lives code. But I can't find evidence it is still working. Here's what I know: 00:808A is the ASM to set default live...

Air Fortress. Fun game. Until level 6. Then it gets frustrating hard, even with savestates. I liked the Game Boy Mega Man music. Even Mega Man II. Cheat mode enable/disable?

I've tried looking around, but does ZSNES have a key or an option somewhere to set a key to quickly turn all cheat codes on or off? (as is the case with a game enhancer on a real system) Useful when you have a bunch of cheats but only want to use them for part of the game (example: trying to quickly...

I don't think I've played to that point in ZSNES, but I believe ZSNES (as most emulators) have long had trouble emulating Chrono Trigger's sound properly.
I suppose it'll be fixed in 2.0 if it is using the same sound engine as bsnes?
(which has much more accurate sound)

If not defining a save directory, you can run the game and it will automatically save to the ROM directory (as long as the ROM is not on something read-only, like a CD).

SNES9x, at least the version I have with AVI recording. It works, but is kind of a pain because I don't hear sound and the game runs at like half speed (though the sound and speed are correct in the output file).
