I agree. Phenomenal gameplay aside, Cave Story's most memorable features are its neo-retro visuals and music. They create a very distinctive style, and really add to the feel of the game. Swapping the old-school blocky look for bad 2.5D cannot end well.

I did a bunch of reading on The Last Remnant to figure out why my guys sucked. I started over, and now I'm kicking major ass. Almost done with disc 1, I think I just finished the last of the sidequests, time to do some guild shit!

I've been playing it on SSF w/ BIOS, and so far so good. I wouldn't say it's flawless - I've noticed some extremely minor graphical hiccups every once in a very great while, the sound emulation stutters a bit on spoken text, and every so often the swoosh noise it makes at the end of battle doesn't p...

I am playing 3D Dot Game Heroes (hurrah!) and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Probably a ZSNES issue. Try another emulator.
