Yeah, you should be able to get it to compile using the instructions for the Linux port, provided you are using an x86 system.
I won't ask why you are using Solaris instead of a Linux flavour. :p

Re: ZsneSK Unoffical release of zsnes which uses "Kaillera"
Hmm... fascinating idea. I will be interested to try this! I searched google for ZsneSK but didn't find anything... only this thread. How's the project going? Keep at it! Like many others, I am interested in a large online snes netplay community. The Kaillera version of zsnes technically violates t...

You are probably best off using SNES9x, it is unlikely a fix will be out anytime soon.

Re: Blaster Master and Crystalis
Hard time deciding between Blaster Master and Crystalis. I'd go with Crystalis. Blaster Master has a bit of room for improvement. 'S a few places it's possible to get the tank almost irretrievably stuck without suiciding, and late-game there's a room or two where you can omit the almost and without...

Program pausing
I wrote this program today (in Fortran), and it takes a while to complete when I give it certain parameters. Anyways, I noticed that the program would occasionally pause for no apparent reason (at least according to my debugging information). When the pause happens, CPU execution of the program goes...

I don't think making zsnes compatible with mappings that are custom made is much of a priority at the moment, especially considering the re-write.

Re: USB adapter, with windows 7
You seem to have the exact same problem as I do. Only difference is my usb adapter(which is for a ps2controller btw) worked about a year ago for my win7 but doesn't work today. It works with all my other emulators(sega, psx, nintendo and the snes9x) just not the zsnes and snes9x is, to be honest, s...

No, the last time Mario was sourced at Square, we got Mario Basketball.sweener2001 wrote:you know, last time mario was sourced to square, we got super mario rpg. or did you forget that?

There's drama in any sort of online community. The emulation community is not unique in that respect.

Re: Possible Bug with Expanded LoRoms?
It is entirely possible that zsnes is not interpreting the expanded rom properly. Your best bet is to modify the emulator to see if this is the case. It is possible that zsnes doesn't like you expanding a game that uses the CX-4 chip, check the specs of the chip to see what it expects.

The search functionality doesn't look in hidden folders. Go into your home folder and press CTRL-H. This will reveal all your hidden folders, including .zsnes.

Re: State of SNES Emulation - 2010
I don't think anyone was whining about the capacity limitations of the SNES, considering that the homebrew scene is non-existent (and still is, despite the existence of MSU-1). If someone wants a homebrew scene for the SNES, they should poke the author of SNAsm, and convince him to finish porting it...

Yeah, that is basically the thing I stated in my original article. Byuu's attitude is largely "my way or the highway", and it is not constructive. And his "standards" are not necessarily perfect either. He has recently acknowledged that UPS (a largely unnecessary format when it c...

Unfortunately, PHPBB3 doesn't have a logging function if someone fails to log into an account. So if someone was trying to log into your account (something I highly doubt), we have no way of finding out.

Chrono Trigger - Crimson Echoes (final version) leaked
Perhaps some of you remember about two years ago when this Chrono Trigger hack known as Crimson Echoes caused a bunch of drama and was shut down by some court order from Square Enix. Well, apparently it has been leaked. http://www.snescentral.com/forum/index.php?topic=349.0 Probably isn't worth play...

Re: SNES Central articles of note - Various prototypes
Some guy on Assembler said they had a prototype of it, and it is the already leaked ROM image with the sound test.
The guy who owns the prototype intends on dumping these, so we probably will get to find out what is on this.

Re: 20 Years of Super Mario World, and the Super Famicom
it's entirely possible to finish the game by playing only 12 levels. Make that 10 stages + Bowser's Castle. Yoshi's Island # 1 and the Yellow Switch Palace are not required. I use a blue shell and Yoshi to reach the key in the third Star Road stage. Also, I'm fairly certain this does not show a rac...
